Tesla Confirms Cybertruck 4-Motor Variant with Front and Rear Wheel Steering at Launch
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has shared some more details about the company’s Cybertruck.
Responding to rumours about Tesla ditching its single motor version of Cybertruck, and instead offering 2, 3 and 4-motor variants, Musk said, “initial production will be 4 motor variant, with independent, ultra fast response torque control of each wheel.

Musk added, “will have both front & rear wheel steer, so not just like a tank – it can drive diagonally like a crab.” He also said Cybertruck will be an “insane technology bandwagon”.
The upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer will also have a CrabWalk, 4-wheel steer, which at the time was not announced for Cybertruck yet. But alas, here we are.
Back in July, Musk confirmed Cybertruck would have rear wheel steering, saying the adding of the latter will allow for “tight turns” and also “maneuver with high agility.” He also teased, “lot of other great things coming” as well at the time.
Cybertruck will also have removable side mirrors and a unique interface within the vehicle, unlike Tesla’s other vehicles it appears.
Tesla has lately launched numerous Cybertruck-themed accessories, including a $50 Cyberwhistle, Cybertruck socks, a Cyberquad for Kids and also numerous clothing items as well, which many believe may be hints at an upcoming launch sooner than expected.
