Tesla Said to Open Temporary Service Location in Victoria, B.C., Ahead of Langford Sales Center [Rumor]

Tesla owners in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, may be getting a temporary service location in the province’s capital.

The rumour comes from owner David L. From the Tesla Owners Club Vancouver Island group on Facebook on Monday evening.

“This afternoon I was told by a very reputable source that Tesla will soon be opening a temporary service location in the Victoria area,” explained David.

“The location is under wraps but there will be an announcement in the next week or two. This is a short-term solution until the Langford service and sales location is built and opens mid-2022,” added David.

The proposed Langford Tesla location is said to be across the street from Costco on McCallum Road.

Earlier this year, Tesla cancelled their announced purchase of the former Volvo dealership located at Douglas and Hillside. This location is now a Polestar dealership.

Tesla’s President of Automotive, Jerome Guillen, posted on LinkedIn back in September 2020, indicating the electric automaker was searching for a service center in Victoria, B.C. Tesla has also posted jobs seeking Mobile Service Technicians in the city.

Currently, Tesla mobile service technicians are utilizing Ferny’s Auto Body Shop on Douglas to perform select servicing that requires a full lift and other equipment.

Victoria and Vancouver Island in general are home to a large number of Tesla owners, with most being Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Major servicing that cannot be performed by a mobile service technician may require a ferry ride over to Vancouver on the Lower Mainland.

Again, whispers point to a Tesla service location coming to development-friendly Langford, located about 15-20 minutes west of downtown Victoria. Take these rumors with a grain of salt.
