The SpaceX Inspiration4 mission of civilians returned safely in the Dragon spacecraft over the weekend, and some are already looking to internal spacecraft upgrades for the next civilian mission

Following a meeting with the Inspiration4 crew to congratulate them in person, SpaceX CEO @Elon Musk responded in jest to users saying that the next SpaceX mission would have “a little oven for heating food & Starlink WiFi,” as well as including “definitely upgraded toilets,” after the crew reportedly had some challenges with the toilet this mission.

Musk also threw shade at U.S. President Joe Biden for snubbing the Inspiration4 crew on congratulating the all-civilian, U.S.-based crew. The comments came after Musk’s electric vehicle (EV) company Tesla was snubbed in recently-proposed tax credit increases geared towards U.S. legacy mega-automakers Ford, General Motors (GM) and Fiat Chrysler.

During the Inspiration4 mission, Musk also donated $50 million USD to personally support the crew’s fundraising goal for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In sum, the Inspiration4 crew collected about $210 million USD following Musk’s donation, before which the hospital reported it could provide well over 2 million days worth of meals for St. Jude families at just $160 million USD – let alone the extra donation from Musk.

Viewers can now watch Netflix’s Inspiration4 documentary, which will continue to release episodes documenting the entire mission from preparation to return.
