Tesla FSD Beta 9.2 ‘Not Great’, Improvements Incoming Says Elon Musk
Following some impressive takes for Tesla’s newly-released Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 9.2 on narrow streets, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has weighed in on the recent release.
@Elon Musk said on Sunday that Tesla’s FSD beta 9.2 is “actually not great,” and that the crew is trying to “improve as fast as possible. Musk also stated that Tesla’s Autopilot and AI team are hoping to create a single stack for both highway and city streets, but that it takes a lot of retraining of the neural network.
FSD Beta 9.2 is actually not great imo, but Autopilot/AI team is rallying to improve as fast as possible.
We’re trying to have a single stack for both highway & city streets, but it requires massive NN retraining.

In a follow-up, @Musk also said that he had just driven FSD beta 9.3 from Pasadena, California to LAX airport, saying that it was “much improved” from the last release.
Most commenters on the thread are expecting FSD beta 9.3 to arrive Friday night, the typical release schedule for beta updates.

At the end of last month, Musk stated that a new FSD release would come every two weeks, set for Fridays at midnight Pacific Time.
After the release of FSD beta 9.3, Tesla will release beta 9.4, then “maybe” FSD beta 10, which is set to have “significant architecture changes,” according to earlier comments from Musk.
