Tesla FSD Beta 8.2 vs. 9.1 Side-By-Side Comparison [VIDEO]
Tesla’s semi-autonomous driving software has been making headlines since its unveiling of the camera-only version of Tesla Vision for Autopilot and Full Self-Driving.
In a new video from Frenchie released on Wednesday, we get a side-by-side look at Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta performance between software versions 8.2 and 9.1.
The video depicts footage of each software performing similar actions side-by-side, with the host discussing which software is better and how the overall progression of the beta software has changed over time.

While the video shows some of the same pitfalls between the two beta FSD versions, it also shows how much improvement has happened since moving away from a radar based system – even as the camera-based sensing update is still in its infancy.
As Tesla’s FSD beta collects more and more data from beta testers driving in real-world situations, the AI actually gets smarter and improves, having more context for circumstances that might occur while self-driving.
Some publications have criticized Tesla’s FSD beta for lacking safeguards, though users of the service are only operating at a Level 2 autonomy.
While Level 2 autonomy requires full attention from the driver, requiring them to be prepared to take over for the system at any given moment. The race for Level 5 autonomy, however, is still raging on.
