According to a recent tweet from TeslaOwnersOnline.com (@Model3Owners), a major design refresh for the Tesla mobile app is currently in the works and is due to start rolling out in the near future.

The update will feature a massive face-lift to the app’s User Interface (UI), as well as a host of new 3D animations for features like HVAC.

In another tweet, TeslaOwnersOnline.com shared a video of the redesigned Tesla app in action, but it has since been deleted.

The update was uncovered by Canadian TeslaOwnersOnline.com founder Trevor Page, who noted that the refresh appears to be in early form at the moment with much of the functionality not ready yet.

From the looks of the currently under-development version of the app, Tesla is trying to streamline the in-app experience and make settings/toggles more accessible by moving them around. The update is currently believed to be a largely aesthetic redesign that isn’t expected to bring any new features to the app.

Patrons of TeslaOwnersOnline.com did speculate of “cloud profiles” and cloud-based settings for users’ Tesla accounts making their way to the app, though.

When the update can be expected to go live currently remains unknown, but we should find out more as development on the app progresses.
