Tesla Delivers Model S Long Range Refresh to Customers, Includes ‘Insane Mode’
After a recent range revision, the refreshed Model S Long Range (LR) is still seeing its first deliveries around the U.S., with one Dallas-area customer having received theirs earlier just earlier this week.
On Monday, Dallas-area Tesla buyer Jason shared photos of his first Tesla, a Model S LR refresh. The buyer also said that the Tesla Delivery Center told him that the unit was one of just the first five units of the refreshed Model S LR in Dallas.
Jason also noted that the Model S LR unit has both insane mode and drag strip mode, and despite not getting a chance to try them out yet, he says “its already the fastest car I’ve ever driven, lol.”

The news comes just weeks after the official release of the highly-anticipated Model S Plaid, which has been called Tesla’s “best car ever” by CEO Elon Musk. First deliveries of the Model S Plaid happened at a delivery event earlier this month, and buyers are already raving about the vehicle’s impressive speeds.
In fact, the Model S Plaid went on to clinch first place at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last weekend, a race including a number of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
