Tesla’s V3 Superchargers are great for fast-charging on the go, but it can also be inconvenient to show up for a charge only to find out that the single open stall is actually out of order.

Luckily, Tesla has added a new feature to the Supercharger information on the car’s infotainment screen that should help keep this classic blunder to a minimum.

The Tesla infotainment screen will now tell you if certain Supercharger stalls are out of order, according to a post on Twitter (via Reddit). The tweet, as shared by Twitter user @PixieAWDboosted, displays an infotainment screen showing 8 stalls available at a Mountain View, California Supercharger station, also including the words “Out of Order: 5B.”

It isn’t clear as of yet if the out-of-order message is universal or just applies to Superchargers in specific locations/orientations, but new Superchargers are being added constantly in the US, including a few from as recently as April 3.

A batch of new Superchargers are also slated to expand in Canada soon, specifically in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

While electric vehicle (EV) charging remains one of the largest barriers to mainstream adoption of EVs, and to deliver a final blow to the traditional gas car, US President Joe Biden recently announced a $174 billion infrastructure plan which includes expansions to EV charging stations across the country.
