New Santa Monica Supercharger to Include 50s Style Diner Soon, Says Elon Musk
In response to a tweet showcasing a massive line of Teslas waiting at a Supercharger station in Santa Monica as substantive proof of the company’s exhilarating Q1 results, CEO Elon Musk announced a “major new Supercharger station” would be coming to Santa Monica “soon”.
Major new Supercharger station coming to Santa Monica soon! Hoping to have 50’s diner & 100 best movie clips playing too. Thanks Santa Monica city!

According to the tweet, Musk also expects to have a 50’s diner on the premises and 100 best movie clips playing around the clock to keep Tesla owners waiting for their cars to charge entertained.
While many applauded the fun factor of the proposed amenities from Musk, others also asked the CEO to just focus on building more Superchargers instead, to reduce wait times in California, the company’s largest market in the U.S.
In late February, Tesla started enlisting help from Santa Monica residents in lobbying for the approval of a new, massive Supercharger project in the city.
The Santa Monica project Tesla was previously lobbying to get approved was going to be the largest Supercharger installation in North America, but that no longer seems to be the case with the revelation of plans for an 80-stall Supercharger station in Fresno County earlier this week.
