Tesla Owner Details Losing Heat During Winter Road Trip

Winter doesn’t seem to be the easiest time for Tesla owners, though what else can we expect from a car company based out of the Bay Area, California, where it doesn’t snow at all?

In a new low for the saga of Tesla’s winter performance, one Tesla Model Y owner on Facebook has shared that their car began to allegedly start blowing only cold air in -15C temperatures (5F), for the 400km remainder of a winter road trip (via Reddit).

The post, as shared by Reddit user u/Doocoo26, shares that the owner had to set up an appointment with a service technician to have the problem fixed.

In the comments, one user shared their experience in which a Tesla advisor told them the service center had just received a number of replacement heat pump sensors for issues related to the latter. This may well be the same issue that the original Model Y owner was having, although it’s tough to say for sure.

Others noted why the owner didn’t just call for roadside service, instead of driving the rest of the trip home in freezing cold.

This user isn’t alone, as others have shared experiences about their Tesla Model Y with no heat, as seen in the video below (and on the TMC forums).

In any case, driving a Tesla during the winter can impact your car’s range and efficiency to a significant degree. However, hopefully no one else will have to experience a long winter road trip with no heat.
