Elon Musk Says He’ll Be Sleeping in a Conference Room at Giga Berlin Tonight [VIDEO]
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk personally accepted the 2020 Axel Springer Award today in Berlin, Germany.
Musk chatted with Axel Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner about a variety of topics, including mentioning how he believes full autonomy would be released for Tesla customers next year.
But one of the funniest exchanges in the conversation was when Döpfner asked Musk about his time in Berlin.
“Do you plan to spend more time in Berlin yourself? Do you want to partly live here?,” said Döpfner. Musk answered yes, noting he would be “spending a lot of time here.”
Then, Döpfner pivoted and asked, “where do you sleep tonight?”, to which Musk replied, “tonight it’s in the factory,” to the surprise of the audience and host.
“In the factory? Not in a hotel?” pressed a curious Döpfner. That’s when Musk deadpanned to say, “well, technically a conference room in the factory, but yeah.”
“You sleep in a conference room in the not finished factory?” said Döpfner seeking clarification. “Yeah, it gives me a good feel for what’s going on,” answered Musk.
“Alone or uh?” asked Döpfner. “Yeah, I assume so, haha. Is this an invitation?” replied Musk.
You can catch this hilarious exchange at the 30-minute mark of the video below.
If Musk is indeed sleeping in a conference room at Giga Berlin, well then we wish good luck to his personal security team, as they’ll be spending the night there too, most likely. Gotta love Elon.
