Tesla Will Donate Overnight Test Drives in Bid to Fight Human Trafficking
As the world transitions to sustainable transportation, Tesla’s role in guiding peoples’ morals towards environmental awareness should not be understated. And now, Tesla will use its major fan power to positively influence a different cause.
Tesla is donating raffle prizes, including overnight test drives, in a fundraising event December 12th, to raise awareness for and fight human trafficking, as reported by Clean Technica (via Miles Through Time). The event is seeking to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Tesla parade, and has already raised an impressive amount of funding for the cause.
The funding will go towards Operation Underground Railroad, an organization of operatives dedicated to assisting world governments with eradicating child trafficking. Miles Through Time, the event’s organizers, is also still looking for sponsors and donors, which companies and individuals can find on the event’s website.
The event, set to take place in Alpharetta, Georgia, will feature a Tesla parade – hopefully, the world’s longest – as well as an after-party at the Westin Hotel in Sandy Springs. Raffle winners will get the chance to take a Tesla Model Y home overnight, and potentially even for good.
Certainly, the bid to fight human trafficking is a noble one, and it’s meaningful to see so many people supporting the cause. Now, all we can hope for is that someone brings some Tesla Tequila to the afterparty.
