Tesla Supercharger in Osoyoos, BC to Also Include 3 CCS/CHAdeMO Chargers
Electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla is expanding its presence through factories, showrooms, charging infrastructure, and more – and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
In recent charging network news, Tesla will be placing 8 new Superchargers as well as 3 dual-port combined charging systems (CCS) in Osoyoos, British Columbia, in Canada, according to a post on Twitter by @MontrealTesla. The new location will be at 8513 74th Avenue in Osoyoos and will feature third-party combined charging systems alongside its Superchargers.
Tesla will officially take control of the lot on April 1st, 2021, with one year to complete the build.
Tesla will take possession of the lot April 1st 2021. They will have 365 days to complete the build. 8 V3 stalls + 3 CCS/CHAdeMO stations. Tesla also received an NRCan grant to install the fast chargers if it takes place over the L2 stations

The Osoyoos Supercharger was approved by the town last summer, but this update sheds more details on when the charging station will be completed. With Tesla taking control of the site next April, expect the Osoyoos Supercharger to go online sometime later in 2021 or early 2022.
We recently released Tesla Supercharger rates around the world, of which Canada has the lowest average charging rate in the world, just below Japan, Norway, and the Netherlands, as well as a whole slew of others.
Despite the low cost of charging, equipping the Canadian countryside with effective charging infrastructure has been a bit of a challenge for Tesla, though it’s been consistently adding Superchargers and partnering with other companies like Electrify Canada to bring a network of charging lots to EV customers.
The new Supercharger lot is set to be helpful for those living and traveling to the southern interior of British Columbia, and it surely won’t be the last to be built by Tesla.
