Tesla showrooms, factories, and otherwise have seemed to pop up all around the world over the last couple years. Ironically, the electric vehicle (EV) giant named after inventor Nikola Tesla has had almost zero presence in the community where the famous inventor was born.
But that’s about to change.
According to a job listing posted on the Tesla website, the company is now hiring for a number of positions in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia, the region where Nikola Tesla was born (via Reddit).
The first jobs posted in Zagreb are for Tesla Advisors, considered a key component of the company’s customer service processes.
The job listing says, “As we prepare for our exciting new entry into Croatia, we are looking to recruit a number of Tesla Advisors to join our brand new team in Zagreb!”
Croatia did not exist as a country at the time of Nikola Tesla’s birth, and instead, he was born in the Austro-Hungarian empire of his time. In spite of this, Tesla himself would be considered Serbian.
Although Tesla may be late to honoring Nikola Tesla with a location in his home region, they’ve beaten Nikola Motors to the punch, at the very least.
