It’s not every day you run into Tesla CEO Elon Musk while visiting one of the Gigafactory sites.
In a new YouTube video released by Tobias Lindh, Musk is seen answering questions outside the under-construction Giga Berlin. In it, Musk responds to several reporters’ queries and talks about the progress and sustainability factors going into Giga Berlin.
The Giga Berlin Factory is well on its way, and it comes shortly after the completion of a new Gigafactory in Shanghai, and before a new Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
When asked why Tesla was building Gigafactory Berlin so fast, Musk said, “You know, I believe in speed.” He continued, “To be more serious for a second, I think it’s very important for the climate that we move quickly.”
Gigafactory Berlin will play an important role in improving Autopilot support for European roads, and for lobbying for regulatory approval and easing of crippling restrictions. @elonmusk

Musk went on to say, “The faster we can make the transition to a sustainable energy future, the better for the world.”
The Tesla CEO also included that the Gigafactory was close to a Berlin train station, and went on to offer this to future employees as quick, affordable transportation to get to and from work.
While it isn’t clear when exactly the factory will be finished, it is clear that it won’t be long.
