Tesla Opens Powershare Outlets on Every New Car, Canada Left Out

Every new Tesla can power tools and gadgets through Powershare, Tesla North America said Tuesday, October 27, but the feature is limited to the United States and Mexico, leaving Canada out for now.
In a post on X, the company said owners can run tools or gadgets from the car with Powershare. A follow-up clarified that the setup works with the Mobile Connector and an Outlet Adapter, and that availability is US and Mexico only. Tesla has not said whether or when Canada will get the same option.
Powershare is Tesla’s name for drawing energy from a vehicle battery to feed outside loads, from job-site tools to camping gear. Home backup with Powerwall 3 already reached new Model 3 and Model Y cars in early October, when Tesla Energy said the car could add more than two days of backup. The 2026.38.3 Halloween software update also leaned on Powershare for emergency drive-away and home backup tools.
Cybertruck owners have had a longer runway. In September, Tesla said Cybertruck Powershare paired with Powerwall 3 could stretch home backup past three days. An $80 Outlet Adapter for Model Y Premium had already turned that trim into a portable power station for US buyers in August.
Tuesday’s posts push the outlet idea onto every new Tesla in the markets that qualify, not just Cybertruck or a single Premium trim. Canadian buyers still need Tesla to extend the Mobile Connector and Outlet Adapter path north of the border, and the company has not laid out a timeline for that expansion.
Will Tesla bring Powershare outlets to Canada next, or keep the feature locked to the US and Mexico for now?
