Turo will let US travelers book Teslas with FSD (Supervised) turned on starting October 28, verified through a direct connection to Tesla’s API, the car rental marketplace said in a press release on Monday. It’s billed as the first verified FSD (Supervised) rental experience in the country, and it lands days after Tesla said more than 75% of new North American buyers took FSD in the third quarter.

Guests will be able to search for and book FSD-enabled Teslas right on the platform, and Turo says thousands are already listed. Before pickup, renters are encouraged to review Tesla’s FSD (Supervised) documentation and safety guidelines, since the system still needs an attentive driver ready to take over.

For hosts, linking a Tesla account to Turo automatically verifies FSD (Supervised) status and displays it on eligible listings. Eligible US hosts can also get a free one-month FSD (Supervised) trial subscription.

Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y are already the third and fourth most popular models on Turo so far this year, according to the company, so the change touches a big slice of its fleet. Turo CEO Andre Haddad called it an “industry-first integration with Tesla” and pointed to the company’s own research showing 55% of Americans are interested in driverless technology for travel, rising to 71% for Gen Z.

Rentals give Tesla an easy way to put FSD in front of people who have never owned one. The company has been leaning hard into adoption since its Q3 earnings call, and owners keep showing what it can do on long trips, like the latest FSD Cannonball record.

Turo hasn’t said whether hosts can charge more for FSD-enabled listings. Would you rent a Tesla on Turo just to try FSD (Supervised) on your next trip?
