Elon Musk Says Grok Bot Will Phone Businesses and Report Back to You

Elon Musk says Grok Bot can now pick up the phone for you, five days after SpaceXSI’s agent started reading and replying to your X DMs. In a post on X on Sunday, October 25, at 7:35 AM PT, Musk wrote that the Bot can call a person or a business on your behalf, make a request, take notes on the response and then send you a summary of the conversation.
Grok @Bot can now call someone or a business for you, make a request on your behalf, take notes on the response and send you a note summarizing the conversation!

His description covers the whole loop, from dialing to reporting back, so you hand off the call and read the outcome later instead of waiting on hold yourself. Musk didn’t say which subscription plans include calling, which countries it works in or what number shows up on the other end. It’s also unclear whether the feature has reached every Grok Bot user yet, and the official @bot account hadn’t posted rollout details as of Sunday morning, so some people may not see it right away.
Calling isn’t entirely new territory for the Bot, but the direction is. SpaceXSI added voice calls in September, and on October 19 Grok Bot landed on the iPhone Action Button for one-press conversations. Those features let you talk to the Bot. What Musk described points the Bot outward, so it speaks to other people for you.
That fits the business pitch Musk has been making for the agent. On October 16 he said SpaceXSI is building a specialized Hagglebot for business use that he believes could improve enterprise cost-efficiency by 5% or more. A Bot that can phone a supplier or a service desk and come back with notes is a natural building block for that kind of work.
Grok Bot has picked up new skills at a fast clip this month. It learned to shop online and place orders on October 10, and on October 22 SpaceXSI let it use your phone’s Calendar, Reminders and Contacts. Access to your address book and schedule pairs neatly with calling, since the Bot can look up who to dial and log what it booked.
What’s the first phone call you would hand off to Grok Bot?
