Tesla Opens a Driver-Voted 8-Stall Supercharger in Cherokee, North Carolina

Tesla has a new 8-stall Supercharger in Cherokee, North Carolina, and it’s one of the sites drivers voted for. The Tesla Charging account on X posted “New Tesla Supercharger: Cherokee, NC (8 stalls)” on Monday afternoon, labeled it a “Voting Winner Site” and shared a photo of the new stalls with a Cybertruck parked alongside. Tesla’s map lists the site as available 24/7.
Cherokee was one of four US winners in Tesla’s Spring 2023 Supercharger voting, alongside Brick Township, New Jersey, and Bryce Canyon City and Park City in Utah, so drivers who picked it have waited a little over three years. Tesla’s voting program lets account holders vote for up to five locations and suggest new ones, and the company named 36 winners in a single batch in August. Tesla used the same “Voting Winner Site” label last week for a 12-stall site in Key West, Florida.
The town sits at the North Carolina entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and at the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, which makes it a natural stop before either drive. From Cherokee, US 441 climbs over the Smokies toward Gatlinburg, Tennessee, while the parkway winds north through the mountains toward Asheville, and both are slow, scenic routes where topping up before you head in is the kind of stop road-trippers plan around.
Are you heading to the Smokies or the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall, and would Cherokee be your charging stop?
