Tesla Pushes Model Y L Launch Series Deliveries to March 2027

Tesla has pushed back the estimated delivery window for new Model Y L Launch Series orders in the U.S. to January to March 2027 for all configurations, up from January to February. That’s according to Sawyer Merritt on X, who posted the change Sunday morning. He added that some customers are also seeing February to April 2027 on their orders.
We checked Tesla’s U.S. configurator for the default build, the Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive Launch Series, and it shows “Est. Delivery: Jan 2027 – Mar 2027” for ZIP codes in Seattle, Los Angeles and New York. That build is listed at $61,990 with an EPA-estimated range of 332 miles, and a $250 order fee is due today. We only checked the default build, and we haven’t seen the February to April dates on an order ourselves.
The Launch Series comes with 12 months of Full Self-Driving and 12 months of free Supercharging. As we reported in September, the Model Y L Launch Series was quoting January to February 2027, part of a wider run of early 2027 delivery estimates for new orders. The new range adds a month to the end of that window. We haven’t seen a reason from Tesla for the change.
The Model Y L is the long-wheelbase Model Y, with a six-seat 2+2+2 layout and second-row captain’s chairs, and it reached U.S. showrooms in July. Longer waits are showing up elsewhere in Tesla’s lineup, too. This month, Tesla Canada paused new Model 3 Premium orders, with ordering expected to resume in March 2027 if the Canadian government issues more import quota.
Would you still order a Model Y L Launch Series with a March or April delivery, or wait for something else?
