Tesla Model Y L Hits US Showrooms: Where to See It
Tesla announced last week that fans can now experience the new Model Y Long Wheelbase in person at select retail locations across the United States.
The vehicle is on display at eight key showrooms, including Fremont and Newport Beach in California, Las Vegas, Houston Galleria, Naperville, Tysons Corner, Meatpacking in New York, and Duluth, Georgia.
The Model Y L gives buyers their first chance to sit inside Tesla’s stretched midsize electric SUV. Designed to offer a far more spacious interior than the standard Model Y, the long-wheelbase variant adds nearly six inches to the wheelbase and extends overall vehicle length by roughly seven inches.
The primary upgrade inside is a true, usable third row configured in a six-seat (2+2+2) layout featuring second-row captain’s chairs. The longer body creates much-needed legroom for rear passengers along with roughly 89 cubic feet of max cargo room, up from the 76 cubic feet found in the standard model.
First introduced for the Chinese market, the Model Y L fills a crucial gap in Tesla’s North American lineup for families who need a three-row EV, albeit still smaller than a conventional SUV. The Launch Series edition brings dual-motor all-wheel drive, an adaptive electronic suspension, and an EPA-estimated range of 325 miles, giving standard Model Y buyers a major space upgrade without sacrificing performance.
