Tesla’s cheapest Model 3 and the new Model Y L are effectively sold out for 2026, with new orders on Tesla’s US order pages now showing estimated deliveries in early 2027.
The entry Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive, priced at $36,990 with an estimated purchase price of $38,630, shows an estimated delivery window of January to March 2027, as checked Monday. That leaves no 2026 delivery slots for the most affordable Model 3.
The $61,990 Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive Launch Series Edition, listed at an estimated purchase price of $63,630, quotes January to February 2027, pushing new orders into next year as well. The Launch Series adds a 12-month Full Self-Driving trial and 12 months of free Supercharging.
Standard Model Y trims are nearly sold out for 2026 too. The $39,990 Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive ($41,630 estimated purchase price) and the $41,990 All-Wheel Drive ($43,630 estimated purchase price) both show December 2026 to January 2027, leaving only late December slots before the calendar flips.
Tesla usually quotes delivery windows measured in weeks or a few months, so 2027 estimates mark a sharp change for US buyers. The company raised Model Y prices earlier this year, and it also cut Model 3 and Model Y lease prices by up to 23 percent last November, but even with pricing moves in both directions, wait times have stretched. Across the border, a $5,000 Model 3 discount ran through September 30, 2025, yet US delivery windows keep slipping.
For anyone ordering a new Model 3 or Model Y in the US now, the practical takeaway is that the cheapest trims are gone for 2026, and the calendar has already flipped to next year.
