Tesla Model Y Price Hike USA: Here’s What Each Trim Costs Now
Tesla has raised prices on select Model Y trims in the United States for the first time in two years, bumping up three of the five available configurations while leaving the base model untouched.
The increases hit the higher-end variants: the Premium RWD and Premium AWD each go up by $1,000, while the Performance trim rises by $500.
The entry-level Model Y RWD stays at its current price of $39,990 and so does the Model Y AWD at $41,990.
Here’s Model Y pricing in the U.S. as of May 16, 2026:
- Model Y RWD: $39,990 (no change)
- Model Y AWD: $41,990 (no change)
- Model Y Premium RWD: $45,990 (+$1,000)
- Model Y Premium AWD: $49,990 (+$1,000)
- Model Y Performance: $57,990 (+$500)
The move reverses a years-long stretch of price cuts Tesla used to drive sales and fend off growing competition in the EV market. Usually we see Tesla modify prices on a Thursday night but these changes come later into the weekend.
