Tesla Europe Confirms Slovakia FSD Approval, Says Rollout Begins Soon

Tesla Europe says Slovakia has now approved Tesla’s supervised driving system, and that rollout begins soon. That’s according to a post from the @teslaeurope account at 7:04 AM PT Friday, which reads “Now approved in Slovakia 🇸🇰 Rollout begins soon” and comes with a photo of the driver’s view from inside a Tesla.
The post doesn’t name the system, and it doesn’t give a date, a software version or a list of eligible cars. It follows the approval Slovakia’s Ministry of Transport announced earlier today, when it recognized the Dutch RDW approval. The ministry calls the system Full Self-Driving (Supervised), while most of Tesla‘s European sites now say Assisted Driving.
Every European approval traces back to the Netherlands, where RDW approved the system on April 10 for Dutch roads only. Other countries can recognize that approval one at a time, and Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, Slovenia, Czechia and Croatia have all done it. By our count Slovakia is the ninth. In the Netherlands, installs started less than 24 hours after approval.
Tesla Europe used the same “rollout begins soon” wording for Czechia on Sept. 21 and for Croatia on Sept. 29. Tesla’s support page now lists all eight of those countries as available, according to our Oct. 10 story. We haven’t seen a dated report of the first Czech or Croatian installs, so how long “soon” takes in Slovakia is still an open question.
Owners will likely face the same steps as elsewhere. The Dutch support page says drivers have to accept a user agreement, watch a mandatory instruction video and pass a quiz before they can turn the system on. Once Tesla starts the Slovak rollout, how quickly do you think it will reach owners?
