Tesla Europe said Monday that FSD Supervised is now approved in Czechia, adding that the rollout will begin soon. A minute earlier, the Czech transport ministry posted its own announcement, saying the country recognized the Dutch RDW authority’s provisional approval and now joins the Netherlands and five other European countries.
The ministry said the decision followed months of expert evaluation and discussions with Czech and international experts, along with Tesla representatives. Officials looked at how the system works in everyday driving, how it responds to traffic signs and speed limits, and how it keeps the driver paying attention. Experiences from countries where the system is already in use also played a role.
The approval matters because FSD Supervised needs the green light in each European country before Tesla can switch it on. Czechia becomes the seventh market in the region where owners will be able to use Tesla’s driver assistance system on public roads under supervision, and each new approval builds momentum for the wider European launch.
Tesla has been working toward this point for a while. The company expanded its unified FSD V14 builds in software update 2026.21.6 last month, and more recently FSD v14.3.10 rolled out with its collision evasion notes intact. Tesla’s Summon range could also more than double in Europe, another sign regulators are warming to Tesla’s automation features.
Czechia is the seventh EU country to approve FSD Supervised, following the Netherlands in April, Lithuania and Estonia in May, Denmark and Belgium in June, and Slovenia in early September. Each approved the system by recognizing the Dutch RDW’s provisional approval under the EU’s Article 39 exemption rather than running its own full test program. Several more countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Greece and Sweden, have the system under review, though none of Tesla’s original summer targets has approved it yet.
EU-wide harmonization is still pending, with a possible vote expected on October 6 needing a qualified majority of at least 15 member states and 65 percent of the population, and Tesla said on September 1 that across 100 million kilometres on EU public roads, FSD Supervised has been 4.1 times less likely to crash than manual driving.
With approval now secured, the next step is the actual software rollout, which Tesla says will begin soon. The ministry stressed that FSD Supervised remains an assistance system, with the driver required to monitor traffic and take over at any time, and it said safety remains the top priority. Czech owners should watch for the update arriving in their vehicles, and every new approval brings the company closer to offering FSD Supervised across the region.
