Tesla Opens an 8-Stall Supercharger in Iași, Romania, a Site Its Drivers Voted For

Tesla has opened a new 8-stall Supercharger in Iași, Romania, and says the site was chosen by its own customers through the company’s Supercharger voting program.
The Tesla Charging account announced the site on X on Friday afternoon:
“New Tesla Supercharger: Iași, Romania (8 stalls)
Voting Winner Site 🏆 If there’s a place where you’ve always wanted a Supercharger, vote for it here”
So yes, it’s confirmed: Iași was a voting winner, straight from Tesla.
Iași is one of Romania’s largest cities, sitting in the country’s northeast near the border with Moldova. That’s a part of the country where fast charging has been thinner on the ground than around Bucharest.
Supercharger voting is Tesla’s program that lets people suggest and vote on where new sites should go. Tesla’s own pitch for it: “Cast your vote to help us decide where the next Tesla Supercharger site will be.” Iași is one of the locations that came out of that process.
It’s also not Romania’s first voting win this fall. Back on Sept. 17, Tesla opened another 8-stall voting-winner site in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, down in the country’s southwest.
What Tesla didn’t say: there’s no word yet on pricing per kWh at this site, or whether it’s open to non-Tesla EVs. Tesla’s post also doesn’t list the charging speed. The site does show up on Tesla’s Find Us map, so those details should surface there soon.
For drivers in northeastern Romania, though, the bigger news is simple. The charger they asked for is now actually there.
