SpaceX quietly posted the next chapter of its Starship documentary series on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, putting “The Holy Grail of Rocketry” on its content hub and X feed as an official look at reuse rather than a new flight.
The episode continues the company’s in-house Starship series after earlier chapters “Test Like You Fly” and “Critical Path.” In the accompanying post, SpaceX said a fully and rapidly reusable rocket will fundamentally change how humanity reaches space, then framed the new film as a look back at engineers proving reuse was possible and a high-seas race to recover a floating Starship.
That floating vehicle is Ship 40, the Flight 13 Starship that survived ocean splashdown and spent weeks adrift before recovery crews brought it alongside Christmas Island for inspection. Heatshield samples and reentry data from that recovery are already feeding upgrades on later vehicles, including Flight 14 plans to reflight tiles taken from Ship 40.
Elon Musk amplified the drop as a new SpaceX documentary episode, helping push the film into wider circulation on X even though it is produced content, not a launch webcast.
Viewers can stream the episode and earlier Starship flights from SpaceX’s content hub while Flight 14 remains queued as the program’s next major step toward catching the ship and closing the reusability loop the documentary treats as rocketry’s prize.
