Tesla Charging said on September 15, 2026, that the first pre-assembled Megachargers are now in the field to support the Semi production ramp, with each unit pairing a V4 cabinet to two posts rated up to 1.2 MW apiece.

Megachargers are Tesla’s high-power charging hardware built for the Class 8 electric truck. The new packs are factory-assembled V4 cabinet units with dual posts, so crews can set a complete 1.2 MW-per-post stall group instead of building the hardware piece by piece on site.
That deployment lands on top of Semi charging work already underway. Tesla opened Semi Charging for Business across five European countries this week, fleets can already buy depot Megachargers and Basechargers direct for their own yards, and an invite-only Semi Rollout at the Sparks factory is set for September 24 as volume production continues.
Pre-assembled packs matter because the bottleneck for freight electrification is not just truck output. Getting 1.2 MW posts into the ground faster is how Tesla keeps charging capacity ahead of the Semi ramp rather than chasing it after deliveries accelerate.
