Golden Tesla Cybercabs are stacking up in a Dallas robotaxi lot and rolling wheel-free on Austin streets days before the company’s September 3 Exclusive Access launch event in the Texas capital.
On the evening of August 23, a Dallas visitor posted photos and video of the gold fleet parked for Robotaxi staging. “Got a chance to see the @robotaxi /Cybercab fleet parking lot in Dallas, TX this evening,” wrote @durai_ashwin08. “Super excited to see these golden taxis hit the streets soon! Slowly, then all at once.”
That same stretch, Austin spotters kept filming production-spec Cybercabs without steering wheels or pedals sharing city streets with Tesla’s Model Y Robotaxi fleet. The street traffic sits beside Tesla’s invite-only Cybercab Launch Event on September 3 in Austin, already locked in by influencer Exclusive Access graphics.
Purpose-built Cybercabs are the two-seat, stepless robotaxis Tesla has been building at Gigafactory Texas while paid Robotaxi service still runs mainly on modified Model Y hardware. Staging lots in Dallas and open-road Austin runs show inventory moving out of the factory before any public Cybercab fare window is confirmed.
Nevada remains part of the same robotaxi arc. Regulators there just cleared Tesla to deploy up to 5,000 robotaxis, and a Federation of the Blind witness praised Cybercab’s built-in Braille cabin features at a Nevada hearing. For now, the clearest Texas signal is hardware on the ground: gold units in Dallas, wheel-free Cybercabs in Austin, and a September 3 date still waiting on Tesla’s full guest agenda.
