Tesla drivers may soon be able to navigate directly to specific parking spots using Full Self-Driving. Elon Musk confirmed the feature is in development after a vehicle owner asked for more precise destination controls.
The exchange began on X when user Whole Mars Catalog shared a screenshot of Tesla’s new Preferred Routes feature, which prioritizes paths drivers have taken in the past. In response, user Bob Derise pointed out a limitation when arriving at work each day. The feature of part of Tesla’s 2026 Summer Update that’s rolling out.
“I know I may be asking for a lot, but I wish I could set my destination in the work parking lot. I have a designated parking spot, every morning I disengaged so I can park in my specific spot,” Derise wrote.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded directly to the request, stating, “It’s coming soon.” This is very exciting news that will result in people going truly from parking spot to a specific parking spot with FSD, without disengaging.
While Musk did not provide a specific release timeline or version number, custom pinpoints within parking lots would eliminate a frequent reason drivers manually override Full Self-Driving at the end of a trip.
