Tesla’s Robotaxi Network Adds Orlando and Tampa in Massive Push

Tesla has expanded its Robotaxi ride-hailing network to Orlando and Tampa, bringing its total operating footprints to seven distinct regions.

The expansion relies on Model Y electric vehicles and introduces fully unsupervised rides to both new Florida markets. The move comes just 18 days after Tesla launched its driverless service in Miami, showing a much faster pace in its regional deployment strategy.

With Orlando and Tampa now live, Tesla’s driverless Model Y rides operate without human safety monitors across five markets: Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Dallas, and Houston. Austin operates on a hybrid model, featuring a mix of unsupervised rides and vehicles with safety monitors. Meanwhile, the Bay Area in California remains restricted to supervised testing, operating with safety drivers behind the wheel.

The rapid addition of new locations comes right before Tesla reports its second-quarter earnings, as the company works to scale its camera-based autonomous network using production Model Ys before eventually introducing its purpose-built Cybercab.
