SpaceXAI Unveils New Logo as xAI Fully Merges Into SpaceX

Elon Musk’s AI company is no more, at least in name. xAI has officially rebranded to SpaceXAI, complete with a new logo and a fresh handle on X, wrapping up its full absorption into the rocket maker.

The change went live on Monday, with the old xAI account on X switching over to @SpaceXAI. The account also posted a video showing the old xAI logo folding into the new SpaceXAI mark, which keeps the familiar stylized “X” and works the AI branding right into the SpaceX identity.

The rebrand caps off a process that started back on February 2, when SpaceX acquired xAI in an all-stock deal that valued the combined companies at roughly $1.25 trillion, with SpaceX at $1 trillion and xAI at $250 billion. The deal also brought X, the social media platform, under the same roof.

Musk spelled out where this was headed in May. “xAI will be dissolved as a separate company, so it will just be SpaceXAI, the AI products from SpaceX,” he wrote at the time.

The move also follows SpaceX’s blockbuster IPO in June, which raised $75 billion at a valuation of around $1.77 trillion, the largest public offering ever.

What’s Next for SpaceXAI

The big idea behind the merger is moving AI infrastructure off the planet. SpaceX has filed with the FCC to launch satellites designed to work as orbital compute nodes, and the company wants to use Starship to build data centre capacity in space, free from the power and cooling limits holding back AI on Earth.

Grok, the flagship AI model built by xAI, carries on under the SpaceXAI banner alongside the company’s other tools for reasoning, voice, image and video generation. The combined company is aiming to speed up both its space operations and its consumer-facing AI products.

With reusable rockets, a massive satellite constellation and frontier AI now under one roof, SpaceXAI is Musk’s bet that the future of computing isn’t on Earth at all.
