Tesla’s Powerwall 3 Just Got a Major Upgrade for Europe — and One Unit Powers 95% of German Homes
Tesla has officially launched the Powerwall 3 in Germany, introducing a new three-phase version of its home battery specifically tailored for the European market. This new model is engineered to handle the energy demands of 95% of German homes with just a single unit, helping homeowners maximize their savings by optimizing how they use their stored solar power.
The Powerwall 3 includes several major technical upgrades designed for complex home setups. It features four solar trackers (MPPTs), which allow the system to stay efficient even if a roof has multiple orientations or faces difficult shading conditions. It also supports mixed DC and AC configurations, making it a flexible choice for both brand-new solar installations and those looking to upgrade an existing system.
In terms of performance, the unit delivers 15.4 kW of continuous AC power and can reach a peak of 21 kW to keep essential appliances running during a power outage. Every unit comes standard with Tesla Home, a fully integrated management system that allows you to monitor and control your energy production and storage from a single interface. By launching this three-phase version, Tesla is positioning the Powerwall 3 as a high-performance solution for a market that typically requires more robust electrical standards than standard single-phase systems.
