Tesla Launches Model Y Orders in Estonia as Expansion Continues
Tesla recently opened orders for the Model Y in Estonia, marking a significant milestone for the electric vehicle maker’s presence in the Baltic region.
The announcement, made by Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa last week, allows local customers to configure and purchase the popular compact SUV directly through the company’s official website.
The launch is expected to streamline logistics and service for Estonian customers, who previously had to navigate third-party imports or silver-market channels to acquire the vehicles. With the formal entry into the market, Tesla is moving toward standardizing its operations across the Baltics, ensuring that owners have access to official support and regional infrastructure.
Despite the lack of an official retail or service presence until now, Tesla has already established a dominant position in the Estonian electric vehicle market. Data shows that the Model 3 is currently the most-registered electric vehicle in Estonia, with over 1,030 units on the road. The Model Y follows closely behind with more than 720 registrations.
Estonia has long been considered a tech-forward nation with a high appetite for EVs, making it a logical next step for Tesla’s European growth. Prior to this official launch, Estonian owners often relied on Tesla’s presence in neighbouring countries like Finland or Lithuania for major service needs.
The introduction of official ordering is typically a precursor to the opening of dedicated service centres and a more robust Supercharger network within the country. This move signals Tesla’s commitment to treating the Baltic states as a unified market rather than isolated edge cases, providing local drivers with the same level of brand integration found in larger European markets.
