Tesla Milestone: 100,000 Refreshed Model Ys Built at Giga Berlin

Tesla has hit another production milestone in Europe. The company announced today that Gigafactory Berlin has now built its 100,000th refreshed Model Y, known internally as “Juniper.”
“Today, we built the 100,000th New Model Y at Giga Berlin!” said Tesla Manufacturing (@gigafactories) in a post on X. André Thierig, Senior Director of Manufacturing at the factory, added: “Great milestone at Giga Berlin today! Only 6 months after start of production, we already built 100.000 new Model Y! Great job by the entire team.”
Production of the updated Model Y began at the German facility in January of this year, marking a new phase for Tesla’s best-selling vehicle worldwide. Since then, Giga Berlin has been steadily ramping up output to meet demand across Europe, crossing 100,000 units just six months into production.
This achievement comes on the heels of several other notable production records for Tesla. Last year, the automaker celebrated its 6 millionth vehicle produced globally, while its Fremont Factory in California surpassed the 1 million mark for Model Y units built. Giga Berlin’s 100,000 milestone underscores the scale at which Tesla has been able to ramp up its European operations in a relatively short amount of time.
The refreshed Model Y includes design tweaks, interior upgrades, and software improvements aimed at keeping it competitive in the fast-growing electric SUV segment. As Tesla continues to balance production between its global factories, today’s milestone suggests that the automaker is well on track to maintain the Model Y’s spot as the world’s most popular EV.
