Tesla has re-launched its referral program in Canada, allowing customers to save $2,600 CAD when they buy a new car using a friend’s referral code.
The reintroduction follows a recent relaunch of the program in the United States. Under the updated terms, Canadian customers who refer someone to buy a Tesla can earn up to $13,000 CAD, while the referred buyer will receive a $2,600 CAD discount on their purchase. That’s a win-win situation.
The discount applies to the Model S/X and Model 3/Y, but now includes Cybertruck as of November 26, 2024.
Additionally, Tesla is offering 1.99% financing on the Model Y for those who take delivery by September 30. This move aims to boost sales and incentivize current Tesla owners to bring in new customers.
Tesla is offering financing options for the 2024 Model Y RWD for well-qualified buyers. Priced at $53,990, the Model Y can be financed at 1.99% APR, resulting in monthly payments of $814.66 for 60 months with a $7,500 down payment. The cost of borrowing at this rate is $2,389.60, making the total obligation $48,879.60, excluding taxes and fees.
Also, financing at 3.99% APR over 96 months results in monthly payments of $566.46 with the same down payment, bringing the cost of borrowing to $7,890.16 and the total obligation to $54,380.16, excluding taxes and fees. These promotional rates are subject to credit approval and may change at any time. Offers apply to the Model Y only, says Tesla’s fine print.
