Tesla has rolled out a new offering for its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles: premium Color Wraps.

The wraps are available for purchase exclusively through the Tesla app and are offered in seven distinct colors. The urethane-based film is self-healing and aims to protect the vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and swirling.

The color options and their respective prices are as follows:

  • Satin Stealth Black: $7,500
  • Glacier Blue: $8,000
  • Satin Rose Gold: $8,000
  • Slip Grey: $7,500
  • Forest Green: $8,000
  • Satin Ceramic White: $8,000
  • Crimson Red: $8,000

The purchase price includes both the cost of materials and installation. Participating Tesla Service Centers, currently located in West Covina and Carlsbad, California, will handle the installation process.

The wraps are available for 2023 and newer models of the Model 3 and Model Y.

To make a purchase, customers must be using version 4.23.0 or newer of the Tesla app. The company has provided a QR code and a mobile browser link for easy access to the app.

According to the Tesla Vehicle Wraps Support Page, the wraps are designed to offer both aesthetic and practical benefits, safeguarding the vehicle’s original paint.

Tesla appears to also be offering Model 3/Y Clear Wraps, which appear to be a PPF type product, for $5,000 USD. However the landing page right now is not live, showing a 404 error. You can see under ‘Recommended Products’ below, the Clear Wrap option is showing on the right.

We never expected Tesla to offer wraps for the Model 3 and Model Y, but we’ve seen some for Cybertruck. It will be interesting if this wrap option expands beyond California. It’s pretty labor intensive to install a wrap so Tesla will either have to train its own staff or outsource to third-party installers.
