The Weekly Supercharger: The Continuum
Welcome back to the Week-end-ly Supercharger (on a Saturday), where for the first time in this series we have decided to make two posts, instead of just one, hopefully to appease the non-Mid-Atlantic crowd, who would otherwise not see any new Superchargers this week.
In this second edition, we’ll be covering various locations spread out across the states of California, Nevada, Florida, and North Carolina.
Starting off, we have a new Supercharger coming to Nevada’s state capitol of Carson City. Back in August, permits were filed with Douglas County for a 16-stall station at the Target on Jacks Valley Road, just outside the city limits.
Up next, a new Supercharger will soon be under construction in Hendersonville, North Carolina. This is not to be confused with Henderson, North Carolina nor Hendersonville, Tennessee, both of which already have Superchargers. Nope, this is a completely different city, located about 20 miles south of Asheville, near the South Carolina state line. Two weeks ago, permits were issued for a new Supercharger (with an unknown number of stalls) at the Panera Bread on Coolridge St, off Interstate 26.
Now comes the boring part which I’m sure everyone dreads and must suffer through… California!! Today’s update (regretfully) includes 4 new Superchargers.
The first new location comes from Gilroy, where permits were recently submitted for a fifth Supercharger in the city. Two weeks, permits were submitted for an additional 20 charging stalls at the Gilroy Premium Outlets. Based on the site address, this new Supercharger will be separate from the original Gilroy Supercharger on Leavesley, and will instead be located along Arroyo Cir.
The following locations happen to come from the smallest city in Los Angeles County (by area). According to a report by Cerritos Community News, two new Superchargers are on their way to Hawaiian Gardens, including one that could actively be under construction, at The Gardens Casino, located right off I-605 at E Carson St. Permits for the 32-stall site were issued back in July, and the article implies that the site is underway. Another site was mentioned in the article, and it is a proposed 12-stall station at the Hawaiian Gardens Town Center. This one is reportedly still in the planning phase.
The last Californian Supercharger of the day comes as a site expansion from the city of Buellton, where a full site redesign is in the cards. The current 10-stall site at the Marriott is going to be removed, in order to make way for 20 new charging stations. Permits for the site are currently in review.
For the last new location of the week, a third Supercharger is planned in Daytona Beach, Florida. Just last week, permits were filed for an 8-stall station at the Wawa on Ridgewood Ave. According to the site plans, the site itself will be equipped with V4 charge posts.
Moving on to the updates for today:
Our first update comes from Salinas, California, where permits for the Supercharger at 1320 S Main St have been issued. Site plans for the installation have also been released, showing the placement of the stalls to be along Blanco Road.
The second update of the week is from Viera, Florida, where permits for the Supercharger at the Shoppes at Lake Andrew have been issued. Construction on the site is set to begin soon.
And that’s all for today’s news. We hope you appreciated the info and hope to see you all soon!
Here is the summary map of the week (for both posts).
