SpaceX Offers Last Chance for Discounted Starlink Hardware in Canada

SpaceX is offering rural Canadian customers a last chance to take advantage of a significant discount on its Starlink hardware. The promotion, which initially launched in March with a 54% discount, was further reduced to $199 CAD in May, marking a 74% price cut. This special offer is set to expire as the last date to acquire hardware at a discount is on September 30, 2023.

The promotion is being advertised on social media platforms like Twitter, highlighting “Starlink – Internet from Space” and “Rural Canada Offer, limited time for hardware.” Eligibility for the offer can be confirmed by entering one’s address on the Starlink website.

The Starlink website states, “Congratulations! Your service address is eligible for the rural hardware offer. For a limited time, get your Starlink kit for over 70% off in select areas of rural Canada.” The discount was also offered in Australia and New Zealand but has since ended.

The monthly service fee for Starlink remains at $140 CAD. According to SpaceX, the current shipping times for the discounted hardware are between 1-2 weeks. Starlink offers a no-contract service with a free 30-day trial.

Starlink removed the data cap on its standard plan, now offering unlimited high-speed, low-latency internet. The company has also updated its mobile app for better account management.

Starlink’s current internet plans include options for both residential and business users, with prices ranging from $150 USD to $250 USD per month. The recommended hardware for these plans starts at $599 USD, with high-performance options available at $2,500 USD.

This promotion represents a final opportunity for rural Canadians to access Starlink’s internet service at a significantly reduced hardware cost, with the service recently passing 2 million customers globally.
