Tesla Launching in Malaysia on July 20
In a significant boost to Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) market, Tesla is officially launching its operations in the country, as per a recent post on its ‘teslamotorsmys‘ Instagram account (via @Tslachan) and credible sources referenced by local industry observer, Paul Tan.
Tesla’s entry in Malaysia, following official approval in March this year, signifies not just the arrival of their cutting-edge electric vehicles, but a significant investment in local infrastructure and job creation.
The plans revealed by the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry, Tengku Zafrul, on Twitter earlier this year, involve the establishment of numerous service centers, Supercharger stations, and a Head Office in the country.
Further indicating the imminent launch, Tesla has recently posted a series of job listings for roles based in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. The positions span sales, operations, charging, and information technology, signaling the U.S. automaker’s commitment to developing a robust local workforce.
The upcoming launch underscores Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and marks an important milestone for Malaysia’s commitment to a greener future.
Tesla revealed its Q2 production and delivery numbers yesterday, reporting a new record for the quarter. Its earnings report will be shared later this month. Tesla’s stock is trading up over 6% today after the positive news.
