Tesla launched sales of its Model S Plaid Track Package today, and while doing so also shared a video of testing of the package in France.

The Tesla team visited the Paul Ricard F1 track in the south of France, testing 11 of their Model S Plaids equipped with the new track pack. The Model S Plaid is described as a “beast on the track” due to its design, which includes a powertrain capable of producing 1020 horsepower, incredible acceleration, and upgraded brakes, wheels, and tires.

This same location is where we first saw YouTubers invited out to test the new Model S Plaid Track Package last month.

The Model S Track Pack transforms the car with a new track-focused tire paired with a forged aluminum 20-inch wheel. It also includes a carbon ceramic brake package. The brakes use continuous fibers in a 3D matrix, and the entire surface is covered with a ceramic friction layer, creating a mirror finish. This design ensures predictable braking performance in all driving conditions, from everyday driving to racing on a track, says Tesla.

The Model S Plaid Track Pack is designed to provide a vehicle behavior and response that is always true to the driver’s inputs. This means that even the most demanding and sensitive drivers can take this car to its limit with confidence.

The Model S Plaid Track Pack also unlocks high-speed stability, maximum cornering force, repeatable stopping power, and a top speed of 200 mph. It includes aluminum forged wheels, track-ready tires and brake fluid, new carbon-silicon carbide rotors, and one-piece forged calipers with high-performance pads.

All of this performance does not come cheap though, as the Model S Plaid Track Package starts from a cool $15,000 USD.
