Tesla to Launch Model S Plaid Track Package on June 2

Tesla has announced to customers it will launch its Model S Track Package for sale on Friday, June 2 at 11am PDT/2pm EDT.

That’s according to an email sent to customers such as Zack (@BLKMDL3). The email says the track package will be available tomorrow morning.

Last month, Tesla said this track package would debut in June. The package unlocks the 200 mph (321 km/h) top speed for the Model S Plaid sedan.

In early May, Tesla also let reviewers go hands-on with the Model S Plaid Track Package, with some testers able to go as fast as 205 mph. Tesla invited some YouTube car reviewers out to the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, Var, near Marseille in France to test the package out.

The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package includes larger carbon ceramic brakes for more stopping power, to go with 20-inch Zero-G aluminum forged wheels and track-ready Goodyear tires, at a cost between $15,000 to $20,000 USD.

“Designed for the ultimate track experience, the Model S Plaid Track Package delivers high-speed stability, maximum cornering force and repeatable stopping power during high-performance driving while unlocking a top speed of 200 mph,” explains Tesla’s website.
