The all-electric automaker launched its lowest-end Model Y trim in Israel earlier this month. Tesla was previously only producing the Model Y RWD at Gigafactory Austin in Texas, so it was unclear at the time whether Israeli orders for the low-cost crossover would be fulfilled from Giga Texas or Giga Shanghai.
However, it now looks like Israel will get Model Y RWD units shipped in from Giga Berlin. This likely means that the company has started producing the RWD variant of the Model Y in Germany.
According to Tesla’s online order configurator for Israel, the Model Y RWD will be available in the Giga Berlin-exclusive Midnight Cherry Red and Quicksilver colorways, in addition to the regular Pearl White Multi-Coat, Solid Black, and Deep Blue Metallic options.
Orders for the Quicksilver Model Y RWD have the earliest delivery window, with the first deliveries expected between September and November 2023. Midnight Cherry Red orders are expected to begin deliveries between October and December 2023, with Deep Blue Metallic units coming up next between November 2023 and January 2024.
Prior to opening up Model Y RWD orders in Israel, Tesla launched the electric vehicle (EV) in Turkey.
Earlier this week, Tesla rolled out price cuts for the Model 3 and Model Y across the globe.
