Tesla Teases Cybertruck Crash Test [VIDEO]

Tesla today teased a crash test of its upcoming all-electric Cybertruck in a video the automaker shared on Twitter.

Teased, because we don’t actually get to see the Cybertruck crash into the wall (or the aftermath, for that matter). We only see the much-anticipated electric truck hurtling toward a wall as dozens of onlookers observe from behind a safety glass. Check out the video for yourself below:

“Just like the truck! It never arrives,” one Twitter user cheekily pointed out. Tesla announced the Cybertruck all the way back in November 2019. While Tesla’s teaser doesn’t show us how the Cybertruck fared in the crash test, it does feature a cool new view of the vehicle from underneath.

Tesla is expected to start producing the Cybertruck at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, sometime this summer, with the first deliveries set to go out near the end of this year. The company plans to begin volume production in 2024.

Workers at Giga Texas have repeatedly been spotted setting up the “Giga Press” die-casting machine that will make the chassis and panels for the all-electric pickup. Earlier this week, Tesla was spotted testing the Cybertruck’s four-wheel steering in the wild.
