Watch: Tesla Model 3 SR+ Performs ‘Moose Test’ [VIDEO]
YouTube channel Teknikens Värld premiered a new “moose test” video on Monday, featuring the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus.
The channel has featured the Model Y in previous moose tests, which evaluates a vehicle’s ability to handle while swerving in and out of a set of cones. This shows the vehicle’s ability to perform evasive maneuvers while on the road, as if the vehicle was swerving around an unexpected object in the road.
One test from the channel compared the handling performance of a Model Y to that of a Ford Mustang Mach-E, finding the Tesla vehicle superior. In fact, tests of the Model Y have found it to have one of the best evasion maneuvers of any vehicles tested on the channel.
Tesla did away with the Standard Range Plus moniker in 2021, changing the vehicle’s name to just “Model 3,” and editing its range estimate down to 267 miles and showing a slightly slower speed.
The Model 3 hit a max speed of 76 kmh (47 mph) in the ‘moose test’ and received an “approved” rating from the channel, calling it a “very good result” for a heavy car like this Model 3. You can see it is able to perform the test with ease.
