Tesla Solar Roof Certified Installer Program Reaches Over 85 Partners
As Tesla’s Energy business continues to expand, the company has pointed out a notable milestone regarding the third-party companies that it has partnered with to install its solar products.
Tesla announced on Tuesday that it has already partnered with over 85 companies on its “Solar Roof Certified Installer” program, as detailed in a post from its @Tesla Solar account.
The account also shared the link for subcontractors and solar companies to sign up to become certified third-party installers as part of the partnership program.
In December, Tesla announced it had reached 500,000 solar panel and roof installations, representing roughly 4GW total of clean energy.

Tesla’s solar program has struggled with supply chain constraints since at least 2021, even pausing all solar roof installations last July for a limited period of time.
Just a few months later, Tesla stopped taking solar installation orders without buyers bundling a Powerwall, though it was also said to be temporary.
Following hurricanes in Florida, one user’s Tesla solar roof and Powerwall were found to withstand hurricane-level winds and being underwater for several hours.
Together with Tesla’s Powerwalls and solar panels, many users in California and Texas could be eligible to participate in the company’s Virtual Power Plant trials, which pay owners to send electricity back to the grid during peak demand, effectively creating a giant, distributed battery across each state.
Tesla’s Q4 2022 revealed its Storage deployed, consisting of commercial Megapacks and residential Powerwalls, reached 2,462 MWh, growing a staggering 152% year-over-year. Solar deployed was at 100 MW, an 18% increase year-over-year.
