Watch Tesla’s Automatic Turn Signals for Model 3/Y in Action [VIDEO]
Tesla’s holiday software update began rolling out earlier this month, and it included an “automatic turn signals” feature that automatically turns off turn signals once fully entering a lane. This feature has been available on the Model S and Model X, but now it makes its way to the Model 3 and Model Y, leveraging the vehicle’s cameras.
The automatic turn signals can be seen in action in a recent video shared by @Paul Maric, where he demonstrates how the feature works on the road, and where it can be toggled on and off.
The video takes place on highway roads in Australia, with Maric driving on a particularly empty stretch of road.
Maric performs a few simple lane changes in his Tesla Model Y, switching the turn signal on when he begins to change lanes, then watching it shut off on its own once he’s fully in the new lane.

In the short video, Maric navigates to the Tesla’s ‘Light’ and ‘Auto Turn Signal’ settings, where you can turn the feature on and off by switching between ‘Off’ and ‘Auto Cancel.’
Tesla’s recent holiday update also brought along with it customizable media controls, a beta version of the Steam gaming platform for Model S and X owners, Track Mode for the Model Y and more.
The automaker also made improvements to its navigation system including a redesign of route guidance, and fun feature such as turning the visualizer rainbow on Autopilot and scheduling light shows remotely.
