Tesla’s Giga Berlin Makes 3,000 Model Ys Per Week; Midnight Cherry Red on Display
Earlier this week Tesla announced its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, had ramped up to 3,000 Model Y cars made in one week. Now just days later, Tesla says its Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany, has achieved the same.
Tesla said on Saturday, “Congrats to the Giga Berlin team on building 3k Model Y this week!”, while sharing a picture of employees surrounding Model Y vehicles, while holding three fingers in the air to represent 3,000.

Giga Berlin will get two new exclusive colors for Model Y, namely ‘Quicksilver’ and ‘Midnight Cherry Red’, only for customers in Europe and the Middle East.
Tesla looks to be showing off the new Midnight Cherry Red at select showrooms in Europe. Images shared by @Berlinegy show door panels painted in the new color on display, and how the colour shifts depending on the angle you’re looking at.

Some Tesla showrooms in Germany are seeing Quicksilver Model Y demo vehicles available for customers to view in person, while deliveries have also started for the new color option:

According to Tesla during its Q3 2022 earnings call, Giga Berlin and Giga Texas are expected to have an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles each. To reach this milestone, both factories must hit just over 4,800 cars built in one week, or a 60% increase to today’s announcement.
