Tesla is offering another discount in China on all vehicles delivered by December 26, as pointed out by @JayinShanghai.

The deal was shared with Jay in a message from Tesla, calling the discount a “Special Heartfelt New Year’s Gift,” and noting that it’s limited to just 3,500 buyers.

Jay also notes that Tesla selected December 26 as the deadline because it’s the final day the automaker can register the vehicle at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to receive the electric vehicle (EV) subsidy.

“Within the specified period, consumers who purchase Tesla vehicles through Tesla’s official channels in Shanghai, and register in Shanghai, can get an exclusive New Year’s gift of 3,000 yuan,” writes Tesla in the message. “First come, first served, the event is limited to 3,500 people.”

The event began on Friday and will run through December 26, or as supplies last.

Jay’s post also included a screenshot of the pricing breakdown, which shows that buyers could take delivery of a Model Y unit for a price as low as Â¥275,900 ($39,567 USD) after subsidies.

The news comes amidst production cut rumors for Tesla in China, as the company shortens shifts for the month of December and delays on some onboarding for new hires.

Despite concerns over demand, the Tesla Model Y dominated November’s SUV category in November, while the Model 3 was the best-selling China-made luxury sedan from January to November.
