Hagerty shared a stunning video on Thursday pitting the world’s quickest cars against each other in a drag race, featuring the Tesla Model S Plaid, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, the Lucid Air Sapphire, and as a bonus, a Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 motorcycle.

The video’s host, Jason Cammisa, talks through the various features of the three different production cars comparing the Model S Plaid’s 1,020hp to the Lucid Air Sapphire’s 1,200hp and the Chiron’s 1,479hp. The Ducati bike has 210hp and is one of the quickest superbikes in the world, according to the video’s description.

Cammisa talks viewers through two different drag races, going on to discuss the results at length with each different vehicle.

Cammisa notes near the video’s end that Bugatti and supercar automaker Rimac have now merged, likely meaning that the Chiron could see an even quicker future. Still, both the Lucid Air Sapphire and Tesla Model S Plaid feature battery-electric engines, while the Chiron has a gas-powered engine.

The Tesla Model S Plaid starts at a price of $125,090 USD, while the Lucid Air Sapphire is priced starting at $249,000 USD and the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport has a starting price tag of just under a whopping $3.6 million USD.

Competition is great for consumers. While the Lucid Sapphire did impress in the drag race, it will be interesting to see Tesla’s response to losing the quarter-mile crown. Lucid Motors is bleeding money as it tries to ramp up the production of its Lucid Air EVs.
